Dr. Kocurek completed her undergraduate education at Stanford University and then her medical degree at University of California, San Francisco in 1989. She continued at UCSF for her residency in Internal Medicine, Primary Care and then spent a year in Uganda as an Adjunct Professor with UCSF, teaching both U.S. and Ugandan medical students and residents, and working in HIV medical care and research. She returned to San Francisco and continued as a faculty member in the Division of General Internal Medicine caring for patients, teaching students and residents, and leading various programs at UCSF, including the Primary Care Residency Program and the HIV practice. Dr. Kocurek moved to Bend in 2003 to open Fall Creek Internal Medicine with her partners and raise her family here. Dr. Kocurek has had a career-long passion for holistic patient care and HIV medicine, and she is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys being with her family and friends in nature, mountain biking, skiing, wilderness camping and canoeing.
